I considered a few possibilities such as frame and panel, veneered panels, solid wood but in the end I opted for the simple approach of treating the shelves and columns as the frame and fitting the TG and V directly into routed grooves. The TG&V is 12mm thick. Still working with MDF shelves at this stage of testing.
